I was recently diagnoised with Colon Cancer and will have surgery to remove the right side of my Colon at the end of this month. I will not know if I need Chemo until the removed portion of my Colon is biopsed. I need to go on a liquid diet two days before and of course the day before drink that horrible gallon of stuff. I am not sure what I can have on the liquid diet and have to take some strong antibiotics the day before that warn you about taking without food. Anyone out there experience this? Just want opinions of similar situations and any suggesions.

Sorry for the delay in responding to your inquiry. Hopefully if you had surgery to remove any cancer in your colon, you had the surgeon work with Dr. Robert Nagourney at Rational Therapeutics to send a sample of your live tissue for chemosensitivity testing to determine with a very high degree of certainty what drugs will kill your individual cancer. Otherwise docs just use clinical trial data to determine what drugs work for "most" people.
